The champions of the respective national team championships qualify for the Confederations Cup in matching years (alongside with the host country and the current World Cup champion).

The Champions of the respective club championships qualify for the Club World Cup the following December - alongside with the champion of the host countries domestic league (If the respective continental championship is won by a team from the host country, then the highest finishing team not from the host country takes the qualification spot from that continental championship).

Many of the confederations also have other championships, but these are either considered to be 2nd tier competitions (i.e. UEFA Europa League, Copa Sudamericana, AFC Challenge Cup, AFC President's Cup, CAF Confederation Cup), regional in nature (i.e. the SuperLiga*, any of the various AFC regional championships/cups, or the Arab Nations Cup & Arab Champions League), Super Cup's (i.e. UEFA Super Cup, Recopa Sudamericana, CAF Super Cup), or are even considered 3rd tier (i.e. AFC President's Cup),

*=Other regional competitions within CONCACAF (i.e. the Caribbean Cup, CFU Club Championship, and Central American Cup), double as qualifiers to the respective national or club continental championships

Many also have competitions at the youth or amateur level(s), and for assoctiated sports (i.e. Futsal, Beach Soccer, etc.)
